Manna's Hana's program helps "Youth at Risk" dealing with bullying, anxiety, PTSD, loss of a loved one, or trauma from prior tornadoes. The closed session is 1 1/2 hours, lasting six to eight weeks, with special instructors, horses, and volunteers dedicated to helping these participants see that there is hope. The session is non-mounted.
Working with the horses can help youth to:
Enhance problem-solving and social skills
Learn empathy and stimulate creativity
Accept accountability for behaviors
Gain a sense of personal control
Learn stress, anger, and frustration management
Decrease feelings of hopelessness and depression
